Hey Phonte,

Just like to say what up and that you are my favorite rapper…no person to listen to (no homo, hideo nomo). I say this because you do it all, rap, sing, podcast, storytell, and I think even produce. Its like you are just one of the boys cause everything you like me and my peeps like. Good music, The Boondocks, and exposing niggedry whereever possible Anywho keep preaching that gospel and please know that I just copped 4 albums today from 5th and Fashion including hopefully that sign copy of Zo! and Tigallo Love the 80’s.

What’s going on Phonte. I wanted to drop a line for your mailbag/next podcast. As a (former) hip hop head I have a question, do you think hip hop is really dead, and if not, who in your eyes is keeping the torch alive? Do you the current landscape of rap music is a direct reflection of how bad the current state of America really is? And my last question to you, if Tupac and Biggie were still alive today, where do you see them fitting in today’s rap music and do you think they would have a more political stance within their rap, or still stuck on money, hoes and clothes? i feel you about fronting like you haven’t caught feelings. when a female calls me, sometimes i act like the call annoys me and i clown her for blowing my phone up. but real talk, when no one’s around, i am like, “what up boo?” rustlin and tusslin in the sheets, spoonish like an eating utensil.

as always the music was dope and the commentary was real. even though u had some serious topics to discuss (i.e., child support), it was done in a way that provoked thought and kept me going through my day.
